My husband and I took the Athens Acropolis tour with Despina. We loved our tour and loved spending time with Despina. I had read the previous posting about just getting the book shortly before we left on our trip so I wavered a bit thinking maybe we should just print off a walking tour and do it ourselves. I would definately recommend taking the walking tour with Despina and not "just getting the book." First I loved hearing the history of the city from a local's perspective and Despina touched on ancient all the way through modern history which was helpful since I had been a little lacking in knowledge on modern greek history. Second I think trying to follow a printed walking tour in a busy city like Athens would be difficult and rather unenjoyable. Despina lead you around in a relaxed manner and I think it helps you get a feel for the city. Our group was nice and small and there were several children along who seemed to enjoy the tour as well. I loved visiting with Despina and I'm so glad we took a tour with her. Thanks Despina.
