“The Best Museum on St. Maarten”
I'll start with the truth - I am a winter volunteer at the museum. But I want to let all know just how good the museum is. First of all it is free - donations accepted - and it is the only full museum on the whole island. There are lots of interesting memorabilia of old St Maarten and for tourists it gives an additional level to your enjoyment of the island. It goes hand and hand with the Heritage Foundation and is also very involved with trying to save our ecology and old buildings, a very difficult process.
It is not the easiest to find as proper signage is not allowed but if you go to the south eastern part of Front Street (nearest the cruise ships) it is down the first alleyway, and if you look up you can see the sign.
I highly recommend it as part of a day in town. Almost everybody that
stops by says it is well worth the time.
