Merida English Library
The Library is only 5 mins walk from the Zocalo (main square). It is on Calle 53 between 66 & 68. It's run by volunteers within the English speaking community & has over 14,000 items, including books of all types, DVDs, etc.
If you are staying for a short time, you may want to look at their second hand books for sale at US$1. If you are in the city for a longer period (e.g. the winter), you might be interested in getting a year's membership, which will cost about US$20.
Besides books, they also sell plants, have conversation evenings where you can practice your Spanish, social gatherings & organise seminars, walking tours & more.
