“Gorgeous stay! Perfect Location!!!!”

I went to Sheraton Our Lucaya with my wife for summer vacation for 6 nights. The hotel is really beautiful: the pools are wonderful and flowers and palm trees everywhere (you are able to use both Sheraton and Westin facilities). The beach is big, white sand, crystal clear water and sunbeds. They organize a lot of things on the beach (parasailing, banana boat, jet ski...). There are also lot of restaurants in the resort and the Barracuda's is very good for breakfast! For dinner we usually went to the Lucaya Marketplace (in front of the resort) because there are more restaurants, the prices are lower and the food is more typical. The Sheraton also has a tourist information desk for excursions and things to do and see on Grand Bahama Island. The lady was very polite and helped us out with everything. We highly recommend the Dolphin Excursion with Unexso. We did the "Swim with the dolphin" experience. It is expensive (170 USD each), but worth every penny!!! It's one of the most beautiful experience of our life! We had the ocean view room #2100 (but it was a pool view room because the ocean was far from the building). Standard big room, with balcony, clean, but it needed some remodeling on the bath tub and A/C that was absolutely noisy! The reception staff is not so polite: the last day we asked a late checkout (only 1 hour more than their policy) because our flight was in the afternoon. We asked to check out at 12 pm instead of 11 am, but they denied our request saying that the room was already assigned for a new guest. The problem is you can only check in after 3 pm so they could have helped us out! We rented a car at the airport with Thrifty (very slow procedure) and we were able to visit the island. We recommend to visit the Lucayan National park (east)with Golden Rock beach (stunning) and Deadman's reef at Paradise cove (northwest). Snorkelling in both places is fan-ta-stic!!!!!! If you have time visit also Fortune beach. Beautiful and close from the resort. The Our Lucaya resort (both Sheraton and Westin) is absolutely well positioned. Right on the beach and on the other side of the Lucaya Marketplace. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we could go back. We were looking fo a peacful place where we can go snorkeling and enjoy beautiful beaches. Super!!!
