“Overall a great experience BUT ...”

Beach Tower at Atlantis

Just returned from a planned 5 night stay at Atlantis/Beach Towers w/ family [2 kids 10/12 yrs]. Good time overall, most of the comments posted here helped, hence this review. As noted the prices for food and just about anything else are ATROCIOUS, far and away above any other island I've every traveled to. A small bottle of suntan spray was around $32.00 in the on site store [$8.00 @ Target in the States]. Small bottle of ice tea is $4.50, can of Coke $2.00. DO NOT touch the mini-bar !!!

Beach and pools are very nice, property overall is beautiful and expansive, never felt crowded. Many reviewers commented on the poor attitude of staff, [I experienced this years ago on a previous trip to another resort in Nassau], but I was really amazed at how friendly and helpful everyone was. I was quite worried as our departure date approached, steeled myself for what I was fully expecting to be a days long exercise in tounge-biting. Everyone from the desk staff to the doorman was friendly, even asking when we would be returning. As an aside, it didn't seem exceptionally busy the week we were there, so that may have helped, but I came home with a desire to visit again, not an idea I would have seriously entertained 2 weeks ago. The Beach Towers are older but clean and well maintained. Rooms were a little tight for a family of 4, so after 2 days my wife inquired about upgrading to the Reef and it was MUCH nicer, and not a huge difference in price.

“2nd visit in 7 years--still enjoyed it!”

Our family visited Atlantis in 2001 in off season and again in August 2008....with two extra children. First time we stayed in the Royal Towers...this time the Beach Tower because we had more kids and less money. We truly enjoyed our trip just as much. Yes, the Beach Tower is the cheapest of the hotels there and the farthest away, but we knew that going in and didn't expect too much...just wanted to spend the time at the facilities and enjoy the restaurants.

“Great vacation”

We just returned from 4 nights at the Beach Tower. Let me start by saying we had a great time. Yes, we paid about $400 per night. However, I did not look at it like I was paying $400 per night for a hotel room. Instead, I viewed it as $400 per night for staying at a resort. Atlantis is beautiful. Tropical, lush landscaping throughout. Several wonderful pools. Perfect beachfront location. Live music at the pool. Waterpark. Gorgeous aquariums everywhere you look. Restaurants and shops throughout the resort. Beautiful décor and lobbies. And a very helpful, friendly staff.

Our room was very nice, nothing amazing but clean and comfortable. The view was spectacular!!! Others have compared it to a Holiday Inn. I disagree, it is definitely nicer than a Holiday Inn. There is nothing better than getting up early, sitting on the little terrace and basking in the beauty of the view.
